DAY OF SPECIAL INTEREST

Wednesday 1st April 2020

To be held at Raehills, St Ann’s, Lockerbie

`

Lord Annandale has kindly agreed to give us a guided tour of Raehills, which is very much his extensive family home. It was built in the early 1780’s as a hunting lodge for James Earl of Hopetoun. It was enlarged in 1829-34 for James Hope Johnstone of Annandale. The private collection includes some fine pieces of furniture and old Master paintings together with a number of family portraits originally from Hopetoun House as well as important pieces of Chinese porcelain. The tour is limited to 40 people and includes coffee and tea at the end of the visit.

Please make your booking as soon as possible but a cut off date is March 10th 2020. The cost is £15 per member and £17.50 for guests.  Please arrive at 1.45pm as the tour begins promptly at 2.0 pm. We will finish approximately at 4.30 pm with tea coffee and shortbread. Cars can be parked at the main entrance which is on the driveway at Johnstonebridge on the A701 road to Moffat.
