TASDAG fundraises and gives grants to local arts projects, and to those aspiring to careers in the arts from within our local community. In times of cuts, even pandemics, when there are many changes to educational provision, we believe it is more important than ever to support active involvement in the arts-architecture, design and technology, literature, music and drama, dance, and visual art for instance. We want to help young people unlock their potential, and embrace their ambitions to connect with the creative industries, as well as engaging the early years age groups in developing their imagination and creative interests.
Working alongside nursery, primary and secondary schools, colleges, museums, youth groups etc our Arts Volunteers initiate and support a wide range of projects and activities. They are passionate about the benefits that creativity and arts education can bring to our local community.
The focus might also extend to working with other local groups such as those who have learning difficulties or special educational needs, or to young offenders.
If you are interested in helping others to have opportunities to discover the arts, and think this is something in which you might like to get involved , please contact our Chairman, Sarah McConnel, or email her at dumfriesgalloway@theartssociety.org.
